Take on the Edinburgh 7 Summits Challenge as part of Team MND Scotland.
If you are looking to challenge yourself, then this one-day trek through the heart of Scotland’s capital might just be for you!
With a challenging 35km and 900m of ascent, you’ll discover hidden routes through the capital, stopping off at castles and palaces and climb Arthur’s Seat – an extinct volcano all while taking in Edinburgh from its 7 surrounding hills.
The Edinburgh 7 Summits Challenge is graded as tough and is a significant test of your endurance that will leave you with a real sense of achievement. This is the perfect challenge for participants with an adventurous spirit, who have taken part in other trekking challenges and now wish to test themselves in a slightly more extreme environment.
The terrain is a mixture of footpaths and pavements. There are sections of the footpaths that can be wet and muddy, and the ascent of Arthur’s Seat is rocky, and can be slippery when wet.
By trekking as part of Team MND Scotland, every step you take and every penny you raise will bring us closer to our vision of a world without motor neuron disease. You’ll also be helping to make time count for those affected by Motor Neuron Disease (MND) across Scotland.

Fundraising
The Edinburgh 7 Summits challenge has two fundraising options:
Minimum Sponsorship
This requires a non-refundable registration fee of £45 to be paid to Charity Challenge upon booking. With this option, we ask you to raise a minimum sponsorship of £400. At least 80% of your minimum sponsorship must be sent to MND Scotland 11 weeks before departure (by 7th June 2025), and the remaining 20% within 4 weeks of completing the challenge (by 20th September 2025).
Self-Funding
This requires a non-refundable registration fee of £45 to be paid to Charity Challenge upon booking. A balance of £115 is required by Charity Challenge 9 weeks before the challenge (21st June 2025). Although there is no minimum sponsorship target with this option, we ask you to raise as much as you can for MND Scotland.
