MND Scotland, the leading charity in Scotland dedicated to supporting individuals with motor neuron disease (MND) and their families and friends, is proud to celebrate the remarkable fundraising efforts of Leah and Ryan Stott, and their contribution to the charity’s vision of a world without MND by raising over £5,000.  

Thanks to the incredible generosity of participants and supporters, a Charity Golf Day organised by Andy Huxtable on 22nd October 2024 at the prestigious Royal Troon Golf Club, raised an impressive £30,000 of vital funds for MND Scotland.  

Gemma Catton, 42, from Ellon, Aberdeenshire has raised a collective total of £25,000 for MND Scotland   - a milestone they celebrate in honour of her mother. Gemma’s current fundraising initiative, titled "Sock It To MND," revolves around her passion for collecting and wearing socks. Since 1st January 2024, she has committed to wearing a different pair of socks each day. She has recently completed a full year, showcasing a total of 366 unique pairs of socks throughout 2024; 36 pairs with penguin designs; 45 featuring dogs; 86 showcasing beloved childhood characters; and 33 pairs of Christmas-themed socks.

Kelly Huxtable, 51, from South Ayrshire, undertook the adventure in December 2024 in memory of her friend, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Casagranda, who bravely fought against motor neuron disease (MND), and to help raise important funds for the charity.

Abbi Noone, a 21-year-old from Gourock, Renfrewshire, will run the prestigious TCS London Marathon on 27 April 2025, to honour the memory of her father, Mark, who battled motor neuron disease (MND). By taking on this challenge, she aims to help other families affected by the disease by raising vital funds for MND Scotland.
