About MND Scotland
Following last year’s successful MND Scotland LEARN local events, we are excited to announce that we will be bringing together researchers and people with lived experience of MND in Scotland again this year to share knowledge, experience and opinions.
A total of 102 people attended four LEARN events in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow during 2024. These open, drop-in sessions brought together people with lived experience of MND with local researchers. During each event, three researchers gave presentations on their work with time between each presentation for everyone to discuss the topics or themes covered. The sessions allowed relationships to form between people with lived experience of MND and researchers. They also provided the opportunity for people to find out more about current research and meet the people behind it, while also letting researchers hear the opinions of people affected by MND on research.
Following the feedback we received about the venues, we are excited to share that we will host our 2025 events in football stadiums across the country. The other change from last year, again following feedback, is the addition of a new LEARN event in Dingwall, in the Highlands.
The events will take place during September and October with full information released in the coming months. Some initial information about the events is available below, however, some information may be subject to change.

All events are free to attend and we ask those who would like to join us to register from July 2025. This will help give us an idea of the number of people attending in each location. Event webpages for each location will also be posted on the MND Scotland website containing full details including speakers, accessibility and transport links.
