Rugby League legend Kevin Sinfield CBE is set to take on his toughest challenge yet to raise awareness and funds for those impacted by Motor Neuron Disease, and you can be part of this amazing challenge!
Kevin will be running in memory of Rob Burrow who died in June 2024 from motor neuron disease at the age of 41. Inspired by Rob’s rugby shirt number 7, Kevin and his team will visit seven regions of the UK over seven days, and run seven ultra marathons, broken up into seven 7km sections throughout each day – 7 in 7. This will be his 5th challenge and to date he has raised over £8million for MND charities.
The challenge begins on 1st December 2024 with a run from Liverpool to Wrexham, before the team head to Gloucester, Bristol, and Belfast. Then to Glasgow and then on to Hull, Northampton, and Leicester, before heading to Manchester and then back to Saddleworth on 7th December.
The team hope to raise a phenomenal £777,777!
Every penny raised will be donated to the MND charities around the UK who do so much to support those affected by this devastating disease, including MND Scotland. We are so grateful to Kevin and the team for their continued support of the MND community in Scotland.
How can you get involved?
To support Kevin and his team you can get involved in many different ways. We will be looking for people to come along and cheer and support him during the Glasgow leg of his challenge. You can also support him by buying an official 7 in 7 T-shirt and donating to his ‘Give as You Live’ Page.
