MND Scotland's 'A Dip a Day in May' challenge is back! As supporters take the daily plunge, and a 'wave' of new participants join in for the original Ice Bucket Challenge - this time with a focus on mental health - we want to reflect on why the challenge was started in the first place.

MND Scotland’s Fun Run is back – and this year, it’s double the fun!

MND Scotland is excited to announce not one, but two Fun Run events this year! The first Fun Run will take place in Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow, on Saturday 6 September 2025, and the second will be held in Lochore Meadows Country Park, Fife, on Saturday 20 September 2025.

SSE’s Charity Rugby Day for MND Scotland in support of colleague

Local SSE Depot in the Western Isles has organised a charity rugby day set to take place on 31st May 2025 in honour of a friend and colleague, Donald Graham, who is living with motor neuron disease. The team aims to help other families affected by this disease by raising essential funds for MND Scotland. 

Glasgow Airport’s ‘Big Stroll’ for MND Scotland

Led by Airport Chaplain Iain Hudson, the team at Glasgow Airport recently participated in the Glasgow Kiltwalk’s 14-mile Big Stroll challenge on Saturday 26 April 2025 in support of MND Scotland to help raise vital funds for motor neuron disease support and research.  

Local man with motor neuron disease will use a wheelchair pushed by his son to reach the finish line of his seventh marathon

Michael will participate in this year's Edinburgh Marathon for first time together with his son Andrew who will push him along the whole route in a sports wheelchair. Michael will be running his seventh marathon, while Andrew will be participating in his third. Andrew has also completed several ultra marathons, including the West Highland Way twice. 

Kirkcaldy man takes on Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon to honour legacy of childhood friend and MND campaigner, Gordon Aikman

Kenney Collins, 38, from Kirkcaldy, will participate in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon this year in memory of Gordon Aikman, and hopes to raise funds for MND Scotland to help other families affected by motor neuron disease in Scotland. 

Two Glasgow brothers set to take on four fundraising challenges during May in memory of beloved mother who battled motor neuron disease

Steven and Alan Lindsay are undertaking four remarkable fundraising challenges to honour the memory of their beloved mother, Barbara Lindsay who passed away earlier this year after a courageous battle with motor neuron disease.
