MND Scotland welcomes two new colleagues

We are delighted to welcome our two newest colleagues, Kim Mackie and Roslyn Scholarios, to Team MND Scotland.

In October we welcomed our new Head of Direct Services and in September we created a new Finance Assistant post, as MND Scotland expands its profile and reach.

Let’s meet the new faces joining the team at MND Scotland’s Glasgow offices!

Kim Mackie, Finance Assistant

Kim is born and raised in Glasgow and came on board as MND Scotland’s new finance assistant in September.

She lives in Glasgow with her 12-year-old son and comes to MND Scotland with over 18 years of experience in finance. In her new role Kim will be responsible for processing purchase ledger transactions and handling online income.

Kim’s personal connection to Motor Neurone Disease has given her an extra motivational factor to join the organisation.

“I have sadly lost a member of my family to MND, so I’m really looking forward to working for such a great charity with some amazing people who care and are motivated about their work.”

In her spare time Kim enjoys spending time with friends and family, keeping fit with spin classes and swimming and has a self-confessed decorating disorder.

Kim has a passion for interior design which is one of her main outlets for her creativity at home. She also has an obsession with glitter and loves giving things an extra sparkle.

Roslyn Scholarios – Head of Direct Services

Roslyn was born and raised in south-east Glasgow, where she now lives with her husband Fiv – whose grandparents originally hailed from Cyprus.

She joins the team as MND Scotland’s new Head of Direct Services, bringing extensive experience of the charity sector into her post.

In her spare time Roslyn enjoys singing, a talent which she has pursued professionally and as a hobby, at various points in her life. She is also a big movie fan and can be seen most weekends using her cinema membership to take in the latest films with her husband.

As the new Head of Direct Services, Roslyn will be responsible for overseeing all of the direct services that MND Scotland provides, including: welfare and benefits, equipment and communication aid loan, counselling, support groups, complementary therapy and our information service.

Roslyn said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team as Head of Direct Services at MND Scotland.

“I started my career in the charity sector as a fundraiser, working in a number of different roles for charities across the UK. However, in recent years I left fundraising and have been working as a General Manager. This gave me the opportunity to experience of all aspects of charity management and the chance to develop my skills in a number of other areas, including service provision.

“I’ve been involved in charity volunteering since I was big enough to hold a collection tin, and come from a long line of dedicated charity volunteers and committee members.

“I’m looking forward to helping MND Scotland to continue to develop and grow the amazing range of direct services they offer.”
