MND Scotland and Barrhead Housing are proud to announce an exciting new charity partnership aimed at raising vital funds and awareness for people affected by motor neuron disease (MND) throughout Scotland.
The partnership, which will run from January to December 2025, holds personal significance for the team at Barrhead Housing, as several staff members have personal connections to people affected by MND.
Barrhead Housing is the local community housing association for East Renfrewshire, and provides people with safe, aspirational and affordable places to call ‘home’ and opportunities to lead happy, healthy, fulfilled lives.
MND Scotland is the only charity in Scotland dedicated to directly supporting people with MND, their families and friends.
A member of the team from Barrhead Housing experienced the impact of MND firsthand when a close family member was diagnosed with the disease.
Lorna Wilson, Chief Executive Officer for Barrhead Housing, said: “We keep kindness at the heart of the decisions we make as a business. That’s why we’re proud to support MND Scotland, a charity dedicated to providing care, support, help and hope to those affected by motor neuron disease.”
She added: “MND is a disease that can affect anyone at any time and has impacted our colleagues and their families. We voted for this cause and are happy to be working with such a great charity”.
The team has already begun fundraising for MND Scotland with an Easter Hamper Competition and taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk in April. To date, the team has raised over an incredible £2000 on their JustGiving Page.
Throughout 2025, Barrhead Housing will organise additional fundraising activities, including hill walks and community events, with the aim of raising vital funds for MND Scotland.
Lynne Wiseman, Fundraising Lead for MND Scotland, expressed gratitude for the partnership: “We’re thrilled that Barrhead Housing has chosen to support MND Scotland throughout 2025. Their commitment will help us continue providing essential support services to people affected by MND across Scotland, while funding vital research into finding treatments and a cure for this brutal disease.”
MND Scotland would like to thank Barrhead Housing for their continued support. If you would like to support the team in their fundraising efforts, please visit their JustGiving page.
