Video: Tough Mudder 2017 raises £11,500

A brave team of MND Scotland supporters have raised £11,500 completing Tough Mudder.

Our incredible team of fundraisers travelled to Drumlanrig Castle, on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June, to take on the 11-mile assault course to raise awareness and funds for Motor Neurone Disease.

Tough Mudder contains over 20 brutal obstacles and is designed to test the limits of its participants. Our team members were challenged with leaping walls, swimming through ice-cold water and even facing electroshock – and it was all for MND Scotland!

The team managed to raise a total of £11,500 through sponsorship, which is enough money to fund 7 weeks of research on the Scottish MND Register. That’s also enough to cover 46 months of counselling for people coming to terms with their diagnosis, 11 weeks of the Welfare and Benefits Service which ensures financial support to people affected by MND, or 4 eye-gaze units, which give people with MND the ability to communicate.

Our Communications Assistant got thrown into the challenge, with a GoPro camera mounted on his head, to capture some of the action!
