Stonegate Group Donates £10,000 to MND Scotland

Stonegate Group, the UK’s largest Pub Company behind popular chains Slug and Lettuce, Walkabout and Popworld have kindly donated £10,000 to MND Scotland.

This comes as a result of a partnership launched in April 2022 which saw the entirety of the Stonegate Group’s estate, including its pubs, bars, venues and head office support teams, getting involved in a variety of ways to raise funds for both MND Scotland and the MND Association.

David McDowell CEO of Stonegate said: “We are proud of our teams across the Stonegate estate for their outstanding effort in raising £250,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, with 10k going to MND Scotland. This achievement is testament to their dedication and commitment in making a positive impact on our communities.”

Making time count for people affected by MND is at the core of everything we do as an organisation and we are united with the MND Association in our vision for a world without motor neuron disease (MND).

MND is a rapidly progressing terminal illness, which stops signals from the brain reaching the muscles. This can cause someone to lose the ability to walk, talk, swallow or breathe unaided and the average life expectancy is just 18 months from diagnosis.

Thanking everyone at the Stonegate Group for their support, Chief Executive, Rachel Maitland said: “We are deeply grateful to the Stonegate Group for their generous donation of £10,000 to MND Scotland. This kind support helps us to make time count for those affected by MND and to continue providing vital services to those who rely on them, as well as to fund pioneering research towards a cure.

“Our work is only made possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters and donors, and we are honored to have been included in this partnership with the Stonegate Group. Thank you to everyone involved for helping us make a difference in the lives of those affected by MND.”
