Ayrshire man to run local marathon in honour of families affected by motor neuron disease (MND)

Twenty-five-year-old, Thomas Lindsay, from Ayrshire, is taking on an incredible marathon this weekend, running a round trip from Ayr to Troon beach. Glasgow Business Owner Shares Emotional Tribute to Mother‑in‑Law who battled MND

Glasgow hairdresser and business owner, Jade Hayter, is sharing the story of her late mother‑in‑law, Margaret “Mags” McQuaid, to help raise awareness of the number of women affected by motor neuron disease (MND).

Support strategies could assist people living with MND in making decisions about their health.

In 2020 MND Scotland funded £153,000 towards a project that assessed the needs of people living with MND in making decisions related to their care. The project, carried out at the University of Edinburgh by Professor Sharon Abrahams and Dr Milena Contreras, found that those who have changes in cognition (thinking) benefit from having specific support strategies when making these decisions.

MND Scotland and Scottish Government fund project to improve the delivery of environmental controls for people with MND

Dr Megan Bolton, from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, has received a Gordon Aikman Scholarship, funded by MND Scotland and the Scottish Government. Dr Bolton will receive £16,000 to fund her research into the delivery of environmental controls across Scotland.
