2026 Edinburgh Marathon Festival

Charity places are now OPEN for the 2026 Edinburgh Marathon Festival!

We are thrilled to offer charity places in all major races in the 2026 Edinburgh Marathon Festival (EMF), including the Edinburgh Marathon, Half Marathon, Team Relay, 10k and 5k.

The Edinburgh Marathon is the UK’s second-biggest marathon, behind only London, and was voted ‘Fastest Marathon in the UK’ by readers of Runner’s World. The EMF is suitable for all abilities; whether you’re a first time runner or a seasoned pro.

By running as part of Team MND Scotland, every step you take and every penny you raise will bring us closer to our vision of a world without motor neuron disease. You’ll be helping us continue to fund pioneering research to find a cure and to support people with MND in Scotland, so they can spend the time they have left making precious memories with the ones they love.

Your support makes our work possible. All funds raised will help make time count for people living with MND today and fund the vital research which is bringing us closer to a cure. Thank you!

The minimum sponsorship requirements for each race are:

• Full Marathon – £25 registration fee and £500 minimum sponsorship
• Half Marathon – £20 registration fee and £300 minimum sponsorship
• Hairy Haggis Relay – £40 registration fee per team and £500 minimum sponsorship
• 10k  – £15 registration fee and £150 minimum sponsorship
• 5k –  £5 registration fee and £100 minimum sponsorship

All MND Scotland runners will receive:

• Printable sponsorship forms
• Help to set up an online sponsorship page with JustGiving
• Technical running t-shirt or running vest to wear on the day
• Information on MND Scotland and fundraising
• An invitation to our post-race reception and treats at the finish line (Sunday only)
