Only a month ago, Motor Neurone Disease was still relatively unknown. The awareness raised by so many people taking part in the Ice Bucket Challenge is unprecedented. We’ve seen politicians, sports stars, celebrities, families, children, workplaces and schools all talking about MND.
Thanks to everyone who has taken part in the Ice Bucket Challenge. Awareness of MND has never been higher and we have raised a huge amount of money, money that we will use to improve the lives of people affected by MND across Scotland.
What We Will Do
MND Scotland will ensure that this huge and unplanned amount of donations will be used to provide the maximum benefit to people and families in Scotland affected by MND, and also to fund research.
Based on the findings of a recent MND Scotland study, we are now planning to introduce new projects and services that will directly benefit people with MND. These will increase the level of contact and amount of support we can offer.
We are only able to do this because of the phenomenal success of the Ice Bucket Challenge.
Why We Still Need Your Support
The amount of money raised by the Ice Bucket Challenge is simply overwhelming, but we must recognise that this is likely to be a unique event.
We will continue to provide care and support to everyone in Scotland with MND. We will also continue to fund research both to find a cure for MND, and to improve the lives of people living with MND.
So, whether you choose to donate to MND Scotland or take part in any of our fundraising events you’ll be continuing to make a real difference to the lives of people in Scotland with MND.
